This is a tour of historic places and sites along the Atlanta Streets Alive Southwest Route on September 29, 2019. Pick up a print version of the self-guided tour at our table in the West End (near Peeples Street on RDA) and use this for additional information and historic images. You can also see more historic images along the route below.
Before the interstates, before Turner Field, before Ralph David Abernathy (the street or the man) there was Georgia Ave, Glenn Street, and Gordon Street running from Summerhill to Westview and Cascade.
As you walk through these neighborhoods, imagine what used to be here (in most cases, a lot of houses!), enjoy what is here today and what the future can bring!
